Shop floor control contains limited functionality for applying piecework to production jobs. The feature can be used as is but can also be used as the basis for developing your own functionality.

Set up piecework

Click Shop Floor Control> Setup> Payroll> Piecework .
Press CTRL+N to create a new piecework setup.
In the upper pane, in the Pieceworkfield, enter a unique identification.
In the Descriptiontext box, enter a description.
On the Generaltab, you can specify:
- Delimit code- Determines whether the piecework is for a single employee, a group, or for all.
- Rate- The rate to be paid if the estimated number of items are produced within the estimated time. If items are produced faster than estimated, the rate will increase proportionally.
- Minimum rate- The pay type that is the minimum to be paid. The calculated rate will also be paid on this pay type when payroll transactions are generated.
In the lower pane, you can select specific production jobs or operations to be included in the piecework.

Stop piecework

Click Shop Floor Control> Setup> Payroll> Piecework .
Select the piecework setup to stop, and then select the Closedcheck box.

Set up the production order for piecework

Piecework pay is calculated only if production processes are set up for piecework.

Apply piecework to a single operation on a single production order

Click Production> Production orders .
Select the production order, and then click Route.
Select the operation and then click the Generaltab.
Select Piecework ratein the Hourly rate / Piecework ratefield.

The field must be set before scheduling.

Apply piecework to a route

If piecework should be applied to the same operation every time, you can change the route setup.

Click Production> Routes .
Select the Route number, and then click Route.
Select the operation, and then select Piecework ratein the Hourly rate / Piecework ratefield.

Pay agreements and piecework

Piecework pay does not require any setup on pay agreements, but existing pay agreement lines for hourly pay may have to be corrected if the piecework pay replaces the hourly pay.

The Hourly rate / Piecework ratefield in Pay agreement linesdetermines how piecework pay is applied.

All- Piecework pay is added to the hourly pay as an extra bonus.
Hourly rate- Only hourly pay is generated.
Piecework rate- Only piecework pay is generated.

Note
The default selection for new pay agreement lines is All.

Piecework transactions

The payroll transactions generated from piecework are posted with Pieceworkas Wage type.
