Use these procedures to modify requests for quotes. Changes to requests for quotes are controlled by the lowest/highest statuses on the request for quote header. This means that you can only make changes to the header when you can also make changes to the request for quote lines and to the related request for quote reply and reply lines.

Remove a vendor

Use this procedure to remove a vendor from a request for quote. You can remove vendors from a request for quote when the status is not higher than . This means that you cannot remove a vendor after you have sent the request for quote to the vendor and a request for quote journal has been created.

  1. Click > Common Forms> .

  2. Use the filter options to find the request for quote that you want to modify. For example, select a vendor account in the field and specify a status in the field.

  3. Select the request for quote that you want to modify.

  4. Click the tab.

  5. Select a vendor from the list and click the Deletebutton in the toolbar to remove the vendor from the request for quote.

Add a vendor

Use this procedure to add a vendor to a request for quote. You can add vendors to a request for quote as long as the request for quote lowest/highest statuses are not / , / , or / .

If you add a vendor to a request for quote where the lowest/highest statuses are / , the statuses change to / on the header and the lowest status on all request for quote lines is updated to because of the new vendor.

  1. Click > Common Forms> .

  2. Use the filter options to find the request for quote that you want to modify. For example, select a vendor account in the field and specify a status in the field.

  3. Select the request for quote that you want to modify.

  4. Click the tab.

  5. Press CTRL+N to add a new vendor and then select a vendor account from the list. Vendor contact information is copied to the request for quote and the statuses change to / .

Delete a request for quote line

Use this procedure to delete specific lines from a request for quote. You can only delete lines when the lowest/highest statuses of the request for quote lines are / . You cannot delete lines with higher status than .

Note Note

When you delete the entire request for quote, all lines are deleted regardless of their status. For more information, see Delete requests for quotes.


  1. Click > Common Forms> .

  2. Use the filter options to find the request for quote that you want to modify. For example, select a vendor account in the field and specify a status in the field.

  3. Select the request for quote that you want to modify.

  4. In the lower pane, select the request for quote line to delete and click the Deletebutton in the toolbar. The inventory transaction created for the line is deleted.

Add a request for quote line

Use this procedure to add new lines to a request for quote.

  1. Click > Common Forms> .

  2. Use the filter options to find the request for quote that you want to modify. For example, select a vendor account in the field and specify a status in the field.

  3. Select the request for quote that you want to modify.

  4. In the lower pane, Press CTRL+N to create a new line. Select an item number and specify additional information for the line. The requested delivery date is copied from the request for quote header, but you can change it later. Price and discount information is not copied to the line. An inventory transaction for the line is created.

Change requested delivery date

Use this procedure to change the requested delivery date on a request for quote header or on a specific request for quote lines. You can always change the delivery date on a request for quote header. You can change the delivery date on a request for quote lines as long as you have not received and registered replies to the request for quote.

  1. Click > Common Forms> .

  2. Use the filter options to find the request for quote that you want to modify. For example, select a vendor account in the field and specify a status in the field.

  3. Select the request for quote that you want to modify.

  4. In the upper pane, click the tab and change the date in the field. Depending on the setup of the update request for quote lines parameters, the delivery date is transferred to the request for quote lines. For more information, see Update request for quote lines (class form).

  5. In the lower pane, click the tab and change the date in the field.
