You use distributions to distribute posted cost amounts or service quantities with or without a dimension to other dimensions. The distribution is performed on the same cost category as the original posting.

You must first create a Calculation versionto be able to distribute costs or quantities.

1. Click Cost accounting> Setup> Calculation> Calculation versionsand then either Cost distributionor Service distribution.

2. Press CTRL+N to create a new line.

3. Select the Distribution level. If you selected Cost line, specify the Distribution structure.

4. In the Distribution referencefield, select either Cost categoryor Cost linedepending on the Distribution level.

5. Select a Method of calculation.

   The calculation method that you select determines how distributions are calculated. You can select from the following methods of calculation:

   • Fixed percentage: Posted amounts are distributed to other dimensions according to the selections made on the Dimensiontab.

   • Cost category: Posted amounts are distributed to other dimensions in the same proportion and to the same dimensions as posted on the cost category in this field. When you use this calculation method, it is appropriate to select all dimensions on the Dimensiontab.

   • Service category: Posted amounts are distributed to other dimensions in the same proportion and to the same dimensions as posted on the cost category in this field. Using this calculation method, it is appropriate to select all dimensions on the Dimensiontab.

   • Cost line: Posted amounts are distributed to other dimensions in the same proportion and to the same dimensions as posted on the cost line in this field. Using this calculation method, it is appropriate to select all dimensions on the Dimensiontab.

   • Reference table: Posted amounts are distributed to other dimensions and in the same proportion as setup on the selected reference table. The dimensions of the reference table are automatically updated on the Dimensiontab.

   • Reference specification: Posted amounts are distributed to other dimensions according to the selected reference quantity and in the same proportion as specified on the Dimensiontab.

   • Fixed amount: On the Dimensiontab, a specified amount is distributed to the dimension.

6. On the Generaltab, select the appropriate check boxes under Cost shareand Offset transaction dimension.

7. Specify in detail the Method of calculationusing the fields under Offset transaction calculation.

8. On the Dimensiontab, enter the Dimensions.
