Use this form to define or view the policies for displaying document information on each type of quality management report. The reports include the certificate of analysis for a quality order, and the nonconformance report, the nonconformance tag, and the correction report for a nonconformance. It is generally helpful to define a unique document type for each report (by using the form) so that you can enter notes and comments for the unique document type and assign a policy to display information for the unique document type in the associated report.

Examples

A manufacturing company had quality guidelines about what notes should be entered and selectively printed for each type of quality management report. With the certificate of analysis, for example, the notes were entered as documents in the form with a unique user-defined document identifier of Certificate. Each note was designated as external or internal. To support this approach, the company used the form to define a unique document type for Certificate as a simple note. The company then used the form to assign the Certificate document type to the report for a certificate of analysis, with a restriction of external so that only the documents that were entered as external were displayed in the report.

A similar approach was used for the other quality management reports. For example, the company defined unique document types with a document identifier of Nonconform and Correction, and used these document types when entering notes as documents in the form and the form.
