Use this form to set up standard (default) values for job scheduling. Job scheduling is the detailed scheduling of capacity and provides a detailed plan of production. Each operation is broken down into individual jobs with specific dates, times, and assigned work centers.

Note Note

Because the values in this form are used each time you run a new schedule, they should contain the values that you use most often.

Fields

Field

Description

Specify the desired scheduling direction for the production order.

The following options are available:

  • Forward from today - Scheduling forward from the current date. The current date is the system date. When job scheduling you can specify a time that scheduling should start.

  • Forward from scheduled start - Scheduling forward from an earlier starting date. If there is no previous scheduling, scheduling will be forward from today.

  • Forward from scheduling date - Scheduling forward from the scheduling date specified in the field. If you have not specified a scheduling date, scheduling will be forward from today.

  • Backward from delivery date - Scheduling backward from the delivery date specified for the production order. For more information on the delivery date, see . If you choose this scheduling direction, and no delivery date is specified, the delivery date will be set to the current date.

  • Backward from scheduled end - Scheduling backward from a previously calculated ending date. If there is no previous scheduling, the ending date is set to the current date.

  • Backward from scheduling date - Scheduling backward from the scheduling date, which you can specify in the field. If you do not indicate a scheduling date, it will be set to the current date. Backward from action scheduling date is calculated for the production order the last time a requirement was calculated. If no action date is specified for the production order, it will be set to the current date.

  • Backward from futures date - Scheduling backward from the futures date calculated for the production order the last time a requirement was calculated. If no futures date has been specified for the production order, the futures date will be set to the current date

  • As last scheduling - In connection with operations scheduling and job scheduling, the selected scheduling direction and date are saved. Therefore, you can select As last scheduling for subsequent scheduling. If there is no previous scheduling of the production order, then scheduling will be backward from the current date.

  • Forward from tomorrow - Scheduling forward from the current date plus one day. The current date is the system date.

  • Forward from previous job - This function is only relevant in job scheduling. If you select this scheduling direction for operations scheduling, the production order will be scheduled forward from the current date. In job scheduling, scheduling is established for one job, and all other jobs for the production are scheduled accordingly.Specify the current job in the field in the Production - Job scheduling (class form)dialog box. That means that if you select one job and choose as your scheduling direction, job scheduling will be based on the previous job's placement in time. The current job 2 is placed behind job 1, and the other jobs in production are placed behind them. This might be useful if you want scheduling to be based on a specific job. If no job is specified in the field, the planned order will be scheduled forward from the current date. If this is the first job scheduling, the planned order will also be scheduled forward from the current date.

  • Backward from previous job - This function is only relevant in job scheduling. If you select this scheduling direction for operations scheduling, planned orders will be scheduled backwards from the current date. Job scheduling is based on a specific job, and all other jobs for the production are scheduled according to that job.Specify the current job in the field. That means that if you specified a job and you select as your scheduling direction, then job scheduling will be based on the previous job's placement in time. If no job is specified in the field, the planned order will be scheduled backward from the current date. If this is the first job scheduling, the planned order will be scheduled backward from the current date.

Date used for the scheduling direction or . Scheduling is then made backward or forward from that date.

Time on which scheduling should be based if the scheduling direction is selected.

Skip scheduling of queue time.

Skip scheduling of setup time.

Skip scheduling of run time.

Skip scheduling of overlap time.

Skip scheduling of transit time.

If selected and underlying or overlying productions are attached, those productions will be scheduled according to the main production. In relation to the current production, overlying productions will be scheduled forward, and the underlying productions will be scheduled backwards. Production order references can be viewed via the field in the dialog box.

If selected, the productions that are related to the production specified in the field will be scheduled based on the production's starting and ending times. To select this field, the field must also be selected. When job scheduling, you can also specify a job identification. The other jobs for the current production and reference productions will then be scheduled according to this job.

For more information about job scheduling, see Production - Job scheduling (class form).

Indicates whether scheduling should observe capacity limitations.

If selected, you can specify that the materials should be considered limited during scheduling. If the materials are limited, the material's coverage for that time will be taken into account. In other words, scheduling takes into account the items' futures dates. Scheduling reserves raw materials and explodes the current production. If scheduling takes place several times, only the first scheduling will run an explosion and make reservations. If you make changes in the production BOM or route, the next scheduling will run an explosion. The explosion assumes that the materials are needed the same day. Because the production is not scheduled at the time of the master schedule explosion, the current date is used as the best estimate of when the items will become available. The explosion then checks whether the items are on hand. If the items are on hand, it is possible to satisfy the production's requirement. If the items are not on hand by the current date, a planned order will be generated and an offset selection made for the planned order.

If automatic-firming is set for the planned order, the planned order will be firmed automatically for purchase or production. The production's status will automatically change to the status specified in the field in the dialog box. If the check box is cleared, the materials are always considered as available. Therefore, scheduling does not take into consideration whether the materials are on hand at the time of requirement.

Indicates whether scheduling should observe any property requirements.
