Use this form to check the actual content of a warehouse against
the on-hand inventory. Place a tag number on every item, for
example from number 1 to 500. During the count, you note the item
number and the quantity on a corresponding tag, which is
subsequently used as the basis for your input in the tag-counting
journal.
When you post the tag-counting journal, a new counting journal
is created based on the tag-counting journal lines. When this is
accepted, you finish the process by posting the counting
journal.
You can simulate the posting to check the result in the counting
journal before you perform the actual posting of the tag-counting
journal. If you are using configurations of the item, you will also
need to specify those. For more information, see
Item
configuration (form).
Note
If you tag-count a specific warehouse, remember to record that
you are counting by warehouse on the
tab in the
corresponding
form.
Items in tag-counting journals cannot be locked during counting
in the
form because inventory transactions are not created until the
tag journal lines are transferred to a counting journal when
posted.
Tip
If tags are entered randomly and you want to identify missing
tags, click the
field to sort the
lines.
View or specify the reason for creating the tag-counting
journal. This information is saved in the
form. You can
also view and specify inventory dimensions.
