A reverse entry voucher is used to reverse cash documents that are already posted. To make a reversal, the vouchers are registered in the cash journal. A receipt reversal is designated with a negative ( -) symbol in the Debitfield. When a disbursal is reversed, the reversal is designated with a negative ( -) symbol in the Creditfield. In both the cases, the Approval statusof the document is displayed as Correction. When you post a reverse entry, a ledger reversing transaction is created to correct the cash balance. No reverse entry cash orders are printed, but the accountant indicates that the cash orders have been voided.
