You can use service template groups to sort and filter service templates. You can also create a hierarchy of service template groups and subgroups in order to categorize service templates. Structuring the templates into groups can make it easier to find the service template containing the information that you want to copy to another service agreement or service order. The service template group structure is different depending on where you view it:

  • - On the tab, view the service template groups, and any parent groups they have. Select the check box to view a graphical representation of the structure of service template groups.

  • - View the service template groups' structure and the templates and lines that are attached to the individual groups. From this form you can copy template lines into a service agreement or service order.

Example

Your company services elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. These are the three top-level service template groups. Within the Elevators service template group, there are three template subgroups: Hotels, Hospitals, and Offices. In the Offices template group, there are two template groups called Personnel elevators and Goods elevators. Under the Personnel elevators group, there are two subgroups. One group is for elevators with a capacity of less than 400 kg, with an attached template called Capacity Less 400 kg - Quarterly Inspection. The other group is for elevators with a capacity of over 400 kg, with an attached template called Capacity Plus 400 kg - Quarterly Inspection. The hierarchy of service templates looks like this:

Elevators

- Hotels

- Hospitals

- Offices

- Goods elevators

- Personnel elevators

- Capacity Less 400 kg

- Capacity Less 400 kg – Quarterly Inspection

- Capacity Plus 400 kg

- Capacity Plus 400 kg – Quarterly Inspection

You receive a call from an office maintenance manager who needs emergency service performed on a personnel elevator with a capacity of less than 400 kg. In the you can check through the elevator template group, the office template group, and finally the personnel elevator template group, and its two subgroups, to quickly determine that a suitable template exists for the service order, that is: Capacity Plus 400 kg - Quarterly Inspection. You can then make any necessary selections on the template lines and copy the information into your service order.

Creating templates

You can also use service template groups to create templates. To create a service template, attach a service template group to a service agreement that does not have any service orders attached to it.
