Use this procedure to set up parameters for purchase requisitions. This setup applies to both the Microsoft Dynamics AX client and Enterprise Portal.
Before you define the purchase requisition parameters, verify that:

You have defined ledger categories.

You have created a number sequence for purchase requisitions. For more information, see Number sequences (form).

You have set up product catalogs and category catalogs.

Click the tab to specify the parameters for purchase requisitions.

In the field, select which items to make available for purchase requisitions:

– Only items that are included in the selected catalogs are available.
-
– All items are available.
-
– Only items that are not blocked for purchase are available.

If you selected in the field, select the product catalog to use for purchase requisitions in the field.

In the field, select the category catalog to use for purchase requisitions.

Select the , , or check boxes to prevent users who are creating purchase requisitions from overwriting the default quantities that have been set up for the item. For more information, see Accounts payable parameters (form).
Item quantities are defined on the tab of the form ( > Common Forms> > > ), or the form ( > Common Forms> > > ) if multisite functionality is activated.

Select the check box to require users to enter a business justification on purchase requisitions.

Select the check box to require that the unit price be specified on purchase requisitions before they can be submitted.

Select the check box to require that the vendor be specified on purchase requisitions before they can be submitted.

In the field, specify how purchase orders are created from approved purchase requisitions:

– Purchase orders are always created manually.

– Purchase orders are always created automatically.
-
– Only purchase orders of with a type of are created automatically.

Select the check box to apply a ledger account filter to purchase requisition lines. Click to add account categories to the filter. For more information, see Add ledger account categories (form).
