Use this form to set up and maintain detailed properties of operations you have created. You can attach operations to a single item, a group of items or all items. They can also be attached to a single route or to all routes. You can define relationships to the operation route, such as the work center where the operation takes place, the routing group it belongs to, and properties such as, how many items the operation processes, and how long it takes to run.

Work center or work center group to be used for the current operation. Work center and work center groups are managed in the Work centers (form)and Work center groups (form)dialog boxes and can be of the types Subsupplier, Human resources, Machine, or Tool. In connection with the scheduling of the production order, there is no load on capacity for Subsupplier-type work centers. |
Number of work centers involved if a work center group is specified in . The field always contains the value 1 if you have specified a work center in . Example: The operation is associated with a resource group that is composed of five machines. The process time for the operation is three hours, and two is specified in . For operations scheduling, six hours are reserved for the work center group. For job scheduling, three hours are reserved for two different work centers. In the Production route (form)for the production, the work center quantity is filled in automatically with the quantity specified here, but it can always be changed for the current operation in the production route. |
The percentage of maximum capacity that has been reserved. The maximum capacity is specified in the work calendar. See also the in the percentage field on the work calendar and the field on capacity reservations. |
Properties indicate an operation's characteristics. If the production is job scheduled with limited capacity and limited properties, work center capacity is only reserved for a period during which the work center has this property. |
The route group controls how an operation is calculated, how feedback is given on the operation, how it is scheduled, job-managed, and which type of calendar is used. Route groups are managed in the form. On the Production route (form)for a production, the route group is filled in automatically with the route group that is specified in Operations (form)when a is given. The route group can, however, be changed for the current operation in the production route. When you create new operations in Operations (form), the route group is filled in automatically with the route group specified in Work center groups (form)or Work centers (form). |
Specify whether the operation engages an external (Supplier) or internal (Standard) work center. |

Specify how for the operation should be calculated.

Set up work centers. You can specify a for the setup category, to be used when making a cost estimate for a production order. Cost categories are managed in the Cost categories (form)dialog box. The cost is calculated as * * * * . The sales price for the setup time is calculated through the cost group from the cost category (setup category). Each cost group can have one or more profit settings and corresponding profit percentages. When making a cost estimate for the production, you can specify which profit setting, and consequently which profit percentage, you want to use when calculating the sales price. The cost group is managed in Cost groups (form). |
The to be used when the operation is run. For the you can specify the to be used in estimating the production order. Cost categories are managed in Cost categories (form). The cost is calculated as * * ( / .) * * * * . The sales price for the operator time is calculated through the cost group from Cost groups (form). Each cost group can have one or more profit settings and corresponding profit percentages attached. When making an estimate for the production, you can specify which profit setting, and consequently which profit percentage, you want to apply when the sales price is calculated. |
The quantity category to be used when the operation is run, is given here. With the quantity category, it is possible to specify the that is used when making a cost estimate for the production order. The cost is calculated with the following formula: * * . The sales price for the quantity category is calculated through the cost group. Each cost group can have one or more profit settings with a corresponding profit percentage. When making a cost estimate for production, you can specify which profit setting, and consequently which profit percentage, you want to use when calculating the sales price. The cost group is managed in Cost groups (form). Production route (form)is filled in automatically with the quantity category that is given in Operations (form)when a has been specified. The quantity category can, however, be changed for the current operation in the production route. When you create new operations in Operations (form), the quantity category field is filled in automatically with the quantity category that is specified in Work center groups (form)or Work centers (form). The quantity category can be changed, however, for the current operation. |

This field can, if it has been specified that a user formula can be used, contain an operation-based value. Typically, the field contains the number of capacity units of the current work center to be used for the production of a component of the finished item. The following is an example of how Process time is calculated on the basis of resource capacity. If, for example, a machine with 1,000 rotations per hour is used to perform the operation, where 2 pieces of the finished item are finished per rotation, then the production of finished items per hour will be 2,000 pieces. You specify 1,000 for the work center's capacity per hour, and set the formula factor for the operation in the route to 0.5 (P). Using the above formula, this gives the following calculation: Process quantity per hour =1,000 (K) / 0.5 (P) = 2,000 pieces. |
Queue time before the operation can start. The queue time must be positive. You set up the field in the route group, where it is possible to determine whether the queue time should be scheduled and which calendar should be used. You can use the queue time, for example, in connection with sub-supplier work. |
The setup time, which must be a positive value, is the fixed time it takes to prepare a work center. The time is scheduled according to the calendar for the work center and is independent of the production quantity. In connection with scheduling, a capacity load is also registered for the time on the work center. The setup time is filled in automatically with the setup time that is specified for the operation route when you select the operation route. The setup time can, however, be changed in the current production route. |
Run time is the time it takes to produce the process quantity. If you did not enter a conversion factor in the field for the operation relation or the for the work center, then is automatically expressed in hours with two decimals. If you did enter a value in for the operation relation, that value overrides the value for the work center. must be a positive value. For a description of conversion to other time intervals, see the description of . The operation's Routing group (form)determines how time is scheduled. The system calculates time in the following manner: * ( ) * (1 + ) * / . If you selected Capacity in for the production route, then is always set to one, while . is calculated through with the number of capacity units that you specified for the current resource under . |

Transport time for transporting items between two work centers or from the last operation to inventory. How is used depends on how the operation's route group is set up. The transport time must be a positive value. |
Queue time following the time the items must wait after the operation is finished, before the next operation can start. The value in Queue time must be positive. The field is scheduled according to the setup for the route group in and can use either the Gregorian calendar or the current working-time calendar. You can use the field, for example, in connection with the drying of items before the next operation can start. |
Hours/time is the conversion factor for those times specified for the operation for conversion to hours with 2 decimals. Conversion uses the following formula: Hours equal operating hours * . Example The following is an example of conversion of hours to hours with 2 decimals. The operation time is 0.50 (a half hour) and is 1,0000. The time is calculated as: 0.50 * 1.0000 = 0.50 hours. If the operation time is in minutes, then should be set to 0.0167. For an operation time of 30 minutes, for example, that time becomes 0.50 hours when you apply the conversion factor. Time calculation: 30.00 * 0.0167 =0.50 hours. |
