Use this form to create and manage the elements that you want to use to calculate the value of the current measurement. Elements are queries that describe the following:

  • Tables in either internal or external databases on which you want to calculate values.

  • Query criteria.

  • Fields from the database tables that will be included in the calculation.

  • The type of calculation you want, for example, sum, average, and maximum.

Query results are saved as a transaction for the element.

Enter identification for the element.

Enter the name of the element.

Automatically displays one of the following values:

  • – No indicators exist.

  • – The indicator exists and is based on a table in the Microsoft Dynamics AX database.

  • – The indicator exists and is based on a table pointed to by a data link.

Indicates whether the element is active. If you clear this check box you deactivate the element, and it is no longer available for the formula defined on the .

Displays the tables that were selected in the wizard for inclusion in the calculation.

Define the low end of the interval for the normalized score.

Define the high end of the interval for the normalized score.

Enter the normalized score for the element. Normalized scores are a method of comparing two or more elements that measure unequal subjects, for example, a sales and a production department.

Example of a normalized score

If the value in the box is 1, the value in the box is 10, and the normalized score is 10, then any results between 1 and 10 will be scored as 10.
