Use this form to report a bill of materials (BOM) as finished. Note that some of the fields in the form are filled in with associated data from the Items table. To initiate the transaction, specify the date, the item number, the configuration (if there is one), the BOM number, and the quantity and then click . A message in the shows you when the transaction is complete. A BOM journal is then generated with item issues and receipts. You can continue to work with the journal before you post it.

If you report a BOM as finished when no production order exists, the system generates item issues on the BOM lines which contain the BOM item and creates an item receipt for the BOM item.

Select an item configuration to associate an item with specific attributes.

Specifies the size of the item.

Specifies the color of the item.

Enter a site. The program finds the active BOM version, quantity, and warehouse from the item's site-specific master data. This field is mandatory when the multisite functionality is activated.

When you enter a site, the program fills in this field automatically.

Enter the Batch number dimension. If you select and in the upper section of the / form, you can edit the batch number for the transfer order line.

Enter the quantity you want to report as finished. The field is filled in automatically if you filled in the field in the or form.

Choose one of the following three options in this field:

  • : underlying bills of materials are not exploded if there is a material shortage.

  • : all underlying bills of materials are fully exploded. This means that any free on-hand inventory for semi-finished component items is not used.

  • : underlying bills of materials are exploded only if the wanted quantity of the material is not fully available.

    Note Note

If the semi-finished item is partially available, only the remaining items are exploded to the underlying levels.

If you select this option, the reporting-as-finished lines are transferred to the selected BOM journal, which is then directly posted. You can still view the lines later by selecting the posted journal in the form. For more information, see Inventory journal (form).

If you leave the check box blank, the lines are transferred to an open journal where you can edit the lines further before they are posted in the usual manner.
