You can use the Common setup of sick-list calculationform to set up parameters to define the methods to be used to calculate benefits for temporary work incapacity, pregnancy, or maternity. You can define time groups to calculate the number of hours worked, average-earned base, and the calculation principles. The setup can be used for an individual employee in the Employee average earned calculation methodform. You can reset the setup in order to calculate benefits for an individual employee.

Set up a sick leave calculation method for all employees

  1. Click Staff accounting> Calculation procedures> Sick-lists> Setup> Setupto open the Common setup of sick-list calculationform.

  2. Press CTRL+ N to create a new average-earnings method.

  3. In the Calculation method codefield, enter a code for the average-earnings calculation method.

  4. In the Namefield, enter a name for the method.

  5. In the Number of monthfield, select the rate code for the number of months in the calculation period to calculate the sick list benefits.

    Note Note

    The calculation includes the hours worked and accruals for the employee during the months within the calculation period prior to the start of the sick leave period.


  6. In the Working week durationfield, select the number of days in a week as 5 days, 6 days, or 7 days.

  7. In the Calculation method of short monthfield, select the method used to calculate the days or hours worked if the employee does not work for the entire period:

    • Summary- Based on the number of days or hours the employee worked in a month.

    • Calendar- Based on the daily time sheet and calendar details.

      Note Note

      Select Calendarto calculate the number of calendar days in a partial month to determine the vacation average earnings according to the average monthly number of calendar days (29.4).


    • By coefficient- Based on the number of days or hours worked by an employee in a month, including the actual time worked after applying the conversion factor rate and considering the duration of the work week.

  8. In the Calculation typefield, select a method to calculate the period of temporary incapacity as by daysor by hours.

  9. On the Average earningstab, in the Base of calculationfield, select the base to calculate the sick list benefits.

    Note Note

    The base includes the pay types that are used to calculate the average earned amount. If there are no accruals in the previous calculation periods, the average earnings is calculated by using the accruals calculated for the average earnings.


  10. In the According to schedulefield, select a time group that defines the time according to the schedule.

  11. In the Actually workedfield, select a time group that defines the actual days or hours worked.

  12. In the Absences from workfield, select a time group that defines time with an acceptable reason for absence from work.

  13. On the Generaltab, in the Length of servicefield, select the rate code for the continuous services of employees for calculation of benefit amount.

  14. In the Period of restriction calculationfield, select the period for which the number of work months is calculated..

  15. In the From 5 to 7 days working weekfield, select the conversion factor rate to convert a 5-day work week to a 7-day week.

    Note Note

    You can set up the benefit calculation parameters for all types of incapacity on the Types of work incapacitytab.


  16. Click the Types of work incapacitytab to define the sick list calculation parameters for the various types of work incapacity.

    Note Note

    You can select various types of work incapacity in the left pane.


  17. In the Sequencefield, select the sequence according to which the sick list calculation is to be performed for the set type of incapacity for work.

  18. In the Gratuitous daysfield, enter the number of days of incapacity that are not paid from the Social Insurance Fund.

  19. In the Total amount limitationfield, select the rate code to specify the maximum benefit amount per month.

  20. Select the Additional payment from Wage Fundcheck box to specify that the employee is calculated and accrued with extra pay for the sick list from the company fund.

  21. In the Amount of benefitfield, select the rate code defining the benefit amount depending on the service time of the employee.

    Note Note

    Such rate codes are defined with value type Criteriain the Ratesform.


  22. In the Time codefield, select a time code for the type of incapacity to work to be displayed in the time sheet table.

  23. In the Limitation by daysfield, select the rate code that determines the number of days of incapacity for which the benefit is calculated based on years of service.

    Note Note

    If the duration is increased beyond the specified number of days, the benefit is calculated depending on the payment percentage specified in the Percentfield.


  24. In the Percentfield, select the rate code defining the percentage for which the days of incapacity to work are paid, when the specified number of limitation days is exceeded.

  25. In the Days restriction for each casefield, select the rate code determining the maximum number of days of incapacity to work for every sick list that is subjected to payment.

  26. In the Year days restrictionfield, select the rate code determining the maximum number of days of incapacity to work per year that is subjected to payment.

  27. In the Limit of agefield, select the age in months up to which the benefit amount is paid.

    Note Note

    This field is available only when you select Child rearing leave.


  28. Press CTRL+S or close the form.

Set up a sick leave calculation method for an individual employee

  1. Click Staff accounting> Calculation procedures> Sick-lists> Setup> Employee setupto open the Employee average earned calculation methodform.

  2. Press CTRL+N to create a new sick leave calculation method for an employee.

  3. In the Calculation method codefield, select a calculation method for the employee.

    Note Note

    You can view or modify the details of the selected calculation method in the corresponding fields on the Overviewand Generaltab.


  4. In the Employeefield, select the employee number.

    Note Note

    You can view the name of the employee in the Employee namefield.


  5. In the Number of monthfield, select a previously configured rate that contains the number of months of the average-earnings calculation period.

  6. In the Calculation typefield, select the calculation type as by daysor by hoursto specify whether average daily or hourly earnings are calculated.

  7. In the Calculationsfield, select a sick list calculation path as By actual salaryor By salary rate.

  8. In the Base of calculationfield, select the base to calculate the sick list benefits.

  9. In the Average earned basefield, select the calculation base for which the average earned payment types is specified.

    Note Note

    This field is displayed only if you select By actual salaryin the Calculationsfield.


  10. In the Step-up ratiofield, select the indexing factor rate for average-earnings calculation.

    This field is displayed only if you select By actual salaryin the Calculationsfield.


  11. In the According to schedulefield, select a time group that defines the time according to the schedule.

  12. In the Actually workedfield, select a time group that defines the actual days or hours worked.

  13. In the Absences from workfield, select a time group that defines time with an acceptable reason for absence from work.

  14. In the On averagefield, select a time group to define the time for which the accruals specified in the Average earned basefield is calculated.

    This field is displayed only if you select By actual salaryin the Calculationsfield.


  15. In the Bonus Basefield, select the base for bonus calculation that includes the pay types corresponding to the incentives from the material incentives fund for the period.

    Note Note

    This field is displayed only if you select By actual salaryin the Calculationsfield.


  16. In the Criteria of bonus accountingfield, select the bonus accounting rule for average-earnings calculation as Maximal, Minimal, Firstor Last.

    Note Note

    If the bonus exceeds the permitted amount for the average-earnings calculation, the bonus for the period is selected for a single reason, based on the selected criteria. This field is displayed only if you select By actual salaryin the Calculationsfield.


  17. Select the Proportional calculationcheck box to include the bonus in the average-earnings calculation in proportion to the hours worked.

    This field is displayed only if you select By actual salaryin the Calculationsfield.


  18. Press CTRL+S or close the form.
