To support the product return process, a company can create and use return reason codes and disposition codes in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Return reason codes are used to describe the reason that the customer wants to return an item and can be assigned on the form.
Disposition codes can be assigned when an item is received or during they physical inspection of the item in quarantine. Disposition codes can be used to describe the condition of the item and identify what follow-up action should be taken, such as scrapping the item and providing the customer with a replacement, returning the item to stock and crediting the customer, or returning the item as is to the customer.
In addition, the report can be used to track customer return trends for both reason codes and disposition codes.
