Use this form to create, view, and edit service orders.

Navigating the form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Filters

Filter

Description

Display all service orders or only service orders that are in process, posted, or canceled.

Display only service orders for the person who is responsible for the agreement that is selected in the .filter.

Display service orders in which the current employee is registered as the employee to perform the service.

Display only service orders where the SLA time recording has been started, stopped, or canceled.

Description

Overview tab

View and edit information about the service order identification (ID), service date, and the progress and status of the service order.

General tab

View and edit information for the selected service order.

View and edit address information for the service order. The service order address defaults from the customer who is specified on the service agreement's project.

View and edit the activities related to the selected service order. The tab reflects the same information that is displayed on the form. For more information, see Create an activity.

Lower pane

Description

View and edit information that is related to the service order transaction type, the employee attached to the line, the category, the service task, and the service object settings.

General tab

View and edit information for the selected record.

View and edit setup information.

View and edit project-related settings for the selected service order line.

View the transactions posted to the current service order.

Open a menu with the following item:

  • - Create an item requirement for the service order.

Open a menu with the following items:

  • - Create service object relations for the service order or view service object relations that are attached to the service agreement. You can specify these service objects on the attached service order lines.

  • - Create service task relations for the service order or view service task relations that are attached to the service agreement. You can specify these service tasks on the attached service order lines.

  • - Copy an alternative customer address to the service order.

Open a menu with the following items:

  • - Post the service order.

  • - Cancel the current service order.

  • - Create an invoice proposal for the service order.

  • - Copy service template lines and their attached service task and service object relations into the current service order.

  • - Copy the lines of a service agreement to the current service order.

  • - Copy service order lines from another service order into the current service order.

  • - Move service order lines from the current service order to another service order.

Open a menu with the following items:

  • - View and edit the service agreement that is attached to the current service order.

  • - View or create CRM activities for the current service order.

Open a menu with the following items:

  • - Update the service order to the next stage.

  • - Revert the service order to the previous stage.

  • - View or maintain the reasons that are specified for updating of the service order.

Create a repair line for the service order.

Open a menu with the following items:

  • - Cancel the current service order line.

  • - Revoke the status of the line. The line's status reverts to the status .

  • - Post the current service order line to a project journal.

Open a menu with the following item:

  • - Calculate cost, estimated sales price, and estimated net weight for BOM items that are attached to the service order line.

Open a menu with the following items:

  • - If the current service order line has been posted and an invoice proposal has been created, you can view invoice lines created from the current service order line.

  • - View items that are available for service order lines of the type .

Fields

Description

If this check box is selected, service orders should be signed off before they can be posted.

Identification of the service order.

Brief description of the transaction.

Customer or vendor account number that is inherited from the project that the service order is attached to. The number can be changed manually.

Identification for the stage of the service.

The progress of the service order. The progress depends on the status of the service order lines:

  • - One or more lines have the status .

  • - All service order lines have been canceled.

  • - All lines are posted and/or canceled.

  • For more information, see Service status and progress field interaction.

If this check box is selected, the service date for this service order conflicts with the date on the calendar.

Specify the default type of service activity for service order lines.

Name of the customer account.

The project that is attached to the service order. The available projects are delimited by the customer account that you selected in .

The service agreement that is attached to the service order. The available service agreements are delimited by the project ID that you selected in the field.

Identification of the contact person.

The service level agreement is attached to the service agreement of the service order.

The status of the SLA time recording for the service order.

The percentage of time that is spent on the service order compared to the time frame specified in the service level agreement.

The time when the time recording began for the service order.

The latest time that the service order can be completed according to the service level agreement.

Employee who is responsible for the agreement.

Select the name of the technician that the customer has requested for the service call.

Shows whether the service order is created manually by a user or automatically by Microsoft Dynamics AX using the periodic job.

Name or company name of delivery address.

Enter the street name of the address.

District for the postal (zip) code.

City for the postal (zip) code.

Specify the region for the delivery (US = county).

Specify the state for the delivery.

Unique identification of the country/region.

Delivery address where the service will occur.

If this check box is selected, the service order lines should be signed off before they can be posted.

Transaction type of the service order line.

Employee who will perform the service.

Category that is used as a default. Categories are set up in form.

In order for categories to be available, they must be set to on the tab in the form.


Description of the transaction. The name entered for the category is automatically repeated in this field.

Service object that is attached to the service order line.

Service task that is attached to the service order line.

Status of the service order line.

For more information, see Service status and progress field interaction.

Date that is calculated as the date on which the service should occur. This date is calculated when the service order line is created automatically based on a service agreement line.

First date within the timeframe set on the service agreement line that forms the basis of the current service order line.

Last date within the timeframe set on the service agreement line that forms the basis of the current service order line.

Date that the service will occur.

Time when the service task will start.

Time when the service task will be completed.

Enter any memos that you want to attach to the service order line.

Currency that is attached to the current expense transaction.

Sales tax group that is attached to the current expense transaction.

Item sales tax group that is attached to the current expense transaction.

Offset account type of the current expense transaction.

Offset account attached to the current expense transaction.

Project invoice on which the current expense transaction has been included.

Project that is attached to the service order line.

Item that is attached to the service order line.

Line property that is inherited from the project that the service order is attached to.

Identification (ID) of the project transaction.

Text that describes the transaction.

Quantity of units.

Cost price per unit.

Total costs for the quantity entered (quantity*cost price)

Currency in which the project is invoiced.

Unit of items.

Sales price per unit calculated in the current sales currency.

Sales tax group of the transaction.

Item sales tax group of the item transaction.

The start time of the hour transaction. This option is available if the check box is selected in the and forms in the section.

The end time of the hour transaction. This option is available if the check box is selected in the and forms in the section.

Project invoice on which the current transaction is included.

Project invoice proposal on which the current transaction is included.
